How a Video-Based Psychological Counseling Session Works

ONLINE PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING by Haegermann 3 min. reading time September 2026

It all starts with a booking. You choose one of the two one-on-one sessions—50 or 90 minutes—and usually get an appointment within a few days, with no waiting list. There’s no questionnaire or intake form to fill out beforehand. If you’d like to ask a question first, feel free to send me a message; it’s not required.

Technology and Location

Technically, very little is needed: for video, a device with a microphone and camera and a stable connection; for a phone call, just the phone, plus a place where you won’t be disturbed for the duration of the session; headphones are helpful if others are in the house. The session takes place via an encrypted European video platform, or by phone if you prefer, with or without a camera. Test your connection and audio a few minutes before the first session, and turn off notifications for that hour.

Additional Appointments, Packages, and Confidentiality

You'll decide how to proceed after the session. You can book additional sessions individually, or choose one of the two packages—five or ten sessions; all prices are listed on the page for Video Consultation. The following applies to each of these conversations: Confidentiality, no diagnosis is made, and billing is handled directly with you, without health insurance. It's up to you to decide how many appointments you'll have.
