Yes. TP is a procedure covered by insurance guidelines and is fully covered by statutory health insurance plans. The prerequisite is a mental illness that meets the criteria for a medical condition and a therapist who is in-network.

The Process

Short-Term Therapy and Long-Term Therapy Approval is granted through a series of steps: first, a psychotherapy consultation; then, two to four trial sessions; and finally, the application. Short-term therapy of up to 24 hours is approved without an expert opinion. For long-term therapy—60 hours, extendable to 100—a report must be submitted to an independently appointed expert, not to the health insurance company itself.

If there are no seats available

The appointment service at 116117 helps arrange appointments with therapists. If the search is unsuccessful within a reasonable amount of time, treatment from a therapist not covered by health insurance can be paid for through the reimbursement process.

If the insurance company denies the claim

You can file an appeal against a denial. Your therapist will help you with this.

Those with private insurance should clarify reimbursement details individually with their insurance provider. For inpatient treatment, separate rules apply, which depend on the insurance provider and the entity covering the costs. Costs for Self-Pay Patients are based on the fee schedule.
