Free Initial Consultation

During this conversation, you'll briefly describe what brings you to me—or why you're not coming to me. You can ask questions and get a sense of what it would be like to work with me.

What to Expect

This initial conversation is meant to make the first contact easier and more casual. If I were you, I wouldn't prepare a monologue; instead, I'd approach the conversation with an open mind and genuine interest. We can't cover everything here anyway.

1

Select a date.

The booking calendar guides you smoothly through the selection process. At the end, you'll receive a confirmation email with all the practical details.

2

We'll have a brief initial consultation.

You don't need to prepare anything, and you can rest assured that the important topics will be addressed.

3

You decide what happens next.

Not during the conversation itself. It's always a good idea to sleep on it. After that, you can just get in touch.

What We Can Discuss

Forms that a conversation can take.

  • If you approach the conversation with an open mind, without doing too much preparation, we'll probably get to the important points more quickly.
  • Please don't be surprised if I interrupt a rehearsed monologue from time to time. I'll probably have you briefly tune into your body. That's usually the most direct way to get to the heart of the matter.
  • We can also discuss practical and technical issues if you'd like.

What It Isn't

Clear boundaries for the conversation.

Let me reiterate: this conversation is not a psychotherapy session. It is not crisis intervention. It is not an emergency service, nor is it a psychological assessment. It’s simply about getting a sense of where you are right now and then seeing if we’re a good fit.

If you are in a crisis situation that requires urgent attention and need immediate assistance, please contact the emergency hotline or a crisis counseling service, or go to the emergency room at the nearest hospital.

It helps many people to understand the practical details before they book. This section is intentionally clear and concise.

Online and by Phone

You'll receive a link that you can simply click on. It's best to check beforehand to make sure your camera and microphone are working. If you'd like, you can leave your camera off, and we can just talk. Some people prefer it that way.

German and English

I have lived abroad for well over ten years and feel equally comfortable speaking German and English.

Frequently Asked Questions

Short answers to help clear up any questions you might have before you book.

Do I need to prepare anything?

No. Having a clear idea of what you want, or giving a brief overview of your history, can help. But preparation is entirely optional. Often, it just gets in the way.

Can I write to you instead of making a reservation?

I run an online practice and try to automate as much as possible because I'm not really fond of handling administrative tasks myself. But if you'd rather send me a quick message first, that's fine, of course.

What are the technical requirements?

A laptop that isn't too old, with a camera and microphone that work reasonably well. At the very least, those need to work. Otherwise, you'll just get an email with a link—just click on it.
